  • 3DS Max 2022?

I just got a email prompt to update to 2022 and it is available for me, however I can find no info or announcement for it elsewhere, which is weird.
    Is everyone getting this email?

I had a similar one for Maya 2022, but Maya havnt released a 2021 yet, that I know of. Im on Maya 2020.3 and stay fairly current with installing releases if they're not buggy.

I wonder if the email isnt legit, so Id be wary of clicking on links....

Seems theyve sent out emails by mistake before.

It's legit, as it is there on the download page to install. Too old and internet-wary to get fooled by dodgy shit anyway
Oddly the only mention of it I have found is on some guy's random site http://www.markcalloway.com/2021/01/...release-dates/

My thought is that it is a mistake and it's not supposed to be there yet...

EDIT: Thanks m_hinks ....I wonder why I couldn't find that page...

Anyway, that is a super exciting upgrade eh? So many awesome new features that it's difficult to know where to look first!
It's like a completely different piece of software and well worth the million pounds I have just posted to them.
        Bye-bye competition!

Maybe they're just a bit embarrassed by it all, so sneaking it out under the radar

And before you ask for a build for V-Ray for Max 2022, there will be a separate announcement for the that in the respective sub-forum
If it was that easy, it would have already been done

Hehe, I for one will not be asking you guys to do that.
I don't see a reason to update at all, unless I missed some super-cool innovative feature that
                everyone else is screaming for

If we get enough requests - sure.

Yep, it's sitting in my Autodesk Installer App, but I'll wait - personally, I've come to the conclusion to wait until there is an update or two, usually around 4-5 months down the line, before installing, it's just too early right now

So what Max version are most of you on at the moment? We are still working with 2018 but will be updating soon. Thinking of moving to 2020, are there any worthwhile updates for 2021? Stability and compatibility with the usual plugins have priority (ForestPack, Railclone, growFX, Berconmaps).
