  • 3dSky shared account with team

We have 8 CG artists on the team who all have been using a single 3dsky account, funded by a single corporate source who purchases credits.
Recently, they have changed their algorithm to prevent multiple IP's accessing the account without authentication each time from the account owner. HUGE pain in the butt...

Curious to know what others are doing for team prop purchases under one umbrella. Purchasing prop credits for each team member and maintaining 8 separate accounts is a logistical headache. Other ideas?

    Thanks!

Yep just came up against this today. Even a vpn doesn't seem to evade the geoblocking they're using...

Pixelcon You gotta wonder if there are any other alternatives out there. I know of many other prop sources, but for our team, it worked well to have one corporate person to purchase a bank of credits for everyone to use. But because we're located across the globe, it is no longer workable.

I can't see how for price vs quality vs sheer volume of content anyone is coming close to 3Dsky. If it were me that was admin, I would be asking them to disable the geoblocking for your account or coming up with some other solution.

I reached out to them and explained the situation. They "disabled two-factor authentication" for the account almost immediately! So we're back up and running. Whew!
