  • First Presentation

I've got my very first presentation for interiors (ie. auditorium sound and lighting) setup in two days time.

I have a laptop. I have some images. No fly-throughs.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how they present their work to potential clients?

I was thinking of a slideshow or even creating a DVD with some music in the background. Does anyone know of any good software to do this or will it even be necessary? At this point, the simpler the better (as long as it doesn't resemble PowerPoint)...

    I'm using AfterEffects.
In case u need simple slideshow - make it in HTML (with or without Flash)
I just can't seem to trust myself
So what chance does that leave, for anyone else?

I use Sony's Vegas, very easy to do presentations. It has excellent pan/crop tool, so you can do gentle zooms and pans, ala History Channel. Gives some life to stills. Or if you on are on a budget run out to Best Buy and pick up Sony's Movie Studio for $100, it's vegas lite, but I believe it does have the pan/crop tools.

Thanks for all your suggestions - I think AE combined with Encore are a powerful solution. But will look into the other apps you have mentioned as time permits.

            Hi Jujubee!
I don't think that you must make a AE presentation to show just some pict, The clients love printed work, have you ever seen clients in architecture insensible to printed work in a correct size (minimum is A3 (42x29.7cm) on photo paper or other good one).
On your laptop you can show greatly your pict but in a small size and they also like to touch the paper

            But it's my own though.

PS:And remember less is more , good luck!

sorry I have missed that, so if you have sound to enhance your presentation.....go with AE

I went through a couple hundred of dollars in print cartridges and paper for marketing recently - returned no results on that.

I did create a quick DVD - the less talking I have to do the better it is for everyone (trust me on this.) Othewise I'll get goofy and start making jokes...

The presentation went well as could be expected - I'll just wait and see. I did bring some print material as well to leave with them.
