  • Will Maya users be part of the current forum?

    Hi,

I hope that Maya and Max users will have different forums for Vray when Vray comes out for Maya. I think it will make things very confusing if the two 3D software core programs don't have seperate forums. I think the Maya users deserve a forum the same as what we Max users currently have, just keep our current forum for Vray for Max the way it is with no invasion of Maya users.

    Thanks,

Hmm, yes I can see where this can be a problem. On the other hand, forums like the Image uploads and Off-topic need to be common for all V-Ray versions. It would probably be best to separate only some of the forums (like Bug reports) into Max and Maya categories.

    Best regards,
    Vlado

      Hi Vlado,

I guess I mean to keep at least the general forum, as it is now, just for Max users and have a seperate one for Maya users.

      Thanks,

Why would it be important to split the general forum up...surely mostly the same issues will apply for each app, and I'm sure a lot of vet max users might actually switch to Maya once the renderer is released. (I plan on partly for our pipeline here at work). That way I will be able to address issues in Maya more directly than one that only works in max. Why should I need to jump between 2 separate forums just to comment about AA samples and gi undersampling?

I have a suspicion that at the beginning Maya users will have a lot more issues than 3dsmax users

            Vlado,

That is exactly what I was thinking. I also think each app has particular needs and issues the other doesn't and it would be a pain to sift through posts for the opposite app that you are using. If the General forum is separated then a user knows they are in a Max forum and all the posts are to do with Max and the same goes for Maya. Just my 2 cents.
