I think AI is just like human cloning, they can do it, but it does not mean they should. At one point AI will play out like the terminator movies, it will surpass humans on every level, at the least rendering millions jobless as our governments and corporations are profit/greed driven.

I will hope that given that many in this development field will know of and adhere to Asimov's quite brilliant take on things, and so a great deal of care will be taken in
trying to ensure that the tech doesn't get out of control.

We can all watch and see how that turns out. It is very much an unknown and of course all prone to nefarious activity which will willfully disregard such high standards...

Just think about a modern car factory, you see plenty of robots but almost no humans. Is not that car companies are bad, it’s only a matter of profit.. if a robot can perform human tasks faster and cheaper then humans have no chances to keep their jobs.
As soon as AI it becomes better and faster, I’m afraid it will go exactly this way.

Do you have the impression that large companies and government care about us? Just an example, the world where we live in have a large problem of pollution and it doesn’t look is going any better in the future, as a matter of fact every years is worst because doing the right thing is anti-economic.

              That's brilliant-looking.
It's easy to debunk: define "harm".
Soon you'll find that humans are the main cause of harm to the species.

In fact, it's quite perfect as a reason to have AI in the workplace instead of humans.
The cost in energy to raise a human to adulthood, all-inclusive, dwarfs most other energy sinks we normally worry about.
The billions of vehicles shipping humans to and from places are an enormous, daily, energy sink.
AI, even including the cost of training and operations, is infinitely cheaper to implement and run.
So, the obvious course of action is to sterilise (or otherwise severely limit) the race, not school them, and have them stay home for the vast majority of their time, while AI takes care of most of our needs.

All of a sudden, we have horror-grade solutions (perhaps without the dropping of Skynet's bombs) to serious problems (that will need some solution at some point in the non-distant future, anyway).
Look up the "Spacers" in Asimov's novels, you'll see how that kind of society may look. ^^

Yes Lele humans are primitive and redundant in certain ways, and always will be. At the same time we are the dominant species on the planet, lets not forget that. However you spin this, though its in our nature to destroy ourselves, if not for nuclear war, then AI of sorts...just live out the life and be happy. Humans are very innovative species, but I think our run on this planet is coming to an end. They did 3 projections of what human evolution on this planet would look like, we either will die off, else something categorically has to change before we become enlightened and excel in this world, but the third projection was just us continuing on this course and it was least likely.
Its an unfortunate reality that we humans put our own selves and our own needs before everything else, always did this way and always will, this is the way nature intended for us to survive. Nature is as cruel as it is beautiful and its a matter of time before we resolve our selves, how that will happen is yet to be seen but I'm not very optimistic.

Exactly...to everything said. My comment was a little tongue-in-cheek and I fully expect a 'we're all doomed' scenario to play out
in one of the many available ways it's possible to do so.
I am mainly concerned that I remain alive in order to see it, as it's rather morbidly entertaining watching humankind simply refuse to address
the glaring issues in any truly meaningful way.
If an AI comes along and somehow manages to shepherd us all into a new bright future then I'm all for it, however I suspect something less than
                  pleasant will occur

To keep the debate going: https://80.lv/articles/artstation-s-...erated-images/

I think this would be fair. They are already looking into ChatGPT watermarking their output: https://techcrunch.com/2022/12/10/op...xt-hit-limits/

It would be good that all of these tools had some sort of watermark, so real can be easily distinguished from AI generated, without the need for another AI detecting AI generated content: https://thehive.ai/blog/detect-and-m...fication-model

I don't get the hype. I tried it, and it is neat, but how can it be used? I am speaking from an architectural perspective. At best, it is an early concept or some ideas to get you started. Show a client something from an AI engine, and how do you dial into the design? Architects are very slow to change, generally, so I don't see it happening in my lifetime, even if it produces something useful. It is a lot of clickbait. "Architects obsolete this decade due to AI!" We are still building homes the same way we have consistently built homes. We made them one board at a time; nothing has changed in hundreds of years—no reason a home can't be built in a factory by robots and assembled on-site by robots. Well, there is a reason, which is unions.

Except some homes are 3d printed on site now. Still in a nascent state, but very interesting.

yes, we can build them, we can print them and we can also live in vans. we do wierd things, this is why we are still here as some of those wierd things happen to be pretty ingenious. so we have text to image. ok, sweet. even useful. but in essence just another tool. spectacular progress since potato stamps but do not wake me up until my coffee grinder sells something with Christie's.

Poured concrete, which is what a 3D-printed house is. I think sensationalizing things gets more attention, which is what is happening with AI. I am old enough to yawn at this stuff since there is always something. So I first caught on to the next great thing when I was told that Flash would take over the internet! Now, what? It is the metaverse. What the heck is that?
