  • 3DSMax - purge unused maps???

    Howdy all,

I have a problem that is driving me nuts and it seems there's no real solution on any of the threads that exist on the Autodesk forums. Hopefully on of the local vray gurus has the solution.

On the face of the problem it seems so simple, but no matter how hard I try, I cannot 'automatically' remove the unused assets in this scene.
I have tried max's tools, 3rd party tools, and some basic maxscript to delete these files. The only way I can actually 'get' the maps is by using RelinkBitmaps and searching for a part of the file name which then populates these into the slate editor. However these materials are not applied to anything in the scene. I have a feeling it's something related to forestpack and perhaps it's a zombie node that hasn't been properly purged after the forest objects were deleted.

The scene is as empty as I can possibly make it yet the maps remain in asset tracker...
Merging objects to a new scene is not an acceptable solution

Looking foward to seeing what works...

    You have a scene state:

Name:	image.png
Views:	81
Size:	8.0 KB
ID:	1167374
    which references materials.
Remove it, refresh asset tracking, and voila'.
