  • Network rendering..

    Hi Guys,

I realise this is more of a Max question, but when network rendering using backburner I'm getting this message when trying to render out an image for signage:

    "error creating bitmap"

I remember having a similar issue when we used viz4 which was solved in the options somewhere...bitmap paging or something?. Maybee I shouldnt be network rendering large images?

    any help much appreciated!

you can render straight to file using the .vrimg format.
I havent used it myself, but do a search here in the forum and you will find all the information you need.

thanks jack, we are rendering a section at a time now and stiching together after. pretty crappy solution direct from discreet help

next time using the vray VFB and saving as a saw .vrimg sounds like a good solution if reliable...

main problem is this image is due today and we cant wait for 1 machine to re-render

I get that error a few times a week, i'm rendering quite a large output.

Usually, close max and reopen does the job..
When not, from an empty scene and merge everything, and that works..

I guess that'a a "file" problem, anyway, merge works fine here

Try switching on the Bitmap Pager in Preferences
