I have done it since year 2000. Anyway my equipment was stolen by burglars. Since it has been used lately more like a hobby, I don't know if I can afford to buy new rig. Does anybody have any recommendations for a new camera in case I can collect the money for it. I usually take the Photospheres at local archipelago and publish them at Google maps. I have about 5 million vies for my spheres there so far. There are hundreds of islands nearby I haven't yet visited.

Here's one I visited on August last year.

Here's stolen rig as well as my boat which was donated to me years ago by the boat hobbyist who built it at his backyard in the 80's. He even designed and made the propeller at his cellar.

Here's another, I made on the same day August last year at islet Vähä Sauluoto. If You look south (where the sun is), You can see an island in Russian territory.

Yet another, I published today Kukio island. On the maritime charts it looks very rocky island to approach by boat, but the were kind people at the local market place, who told me how avoid the rocks. There was lot's of WWII things, caves etc.

They're cool but unfortunately the compression of them reduces their appeal, at least for me
Can they not be processed to remove at least some of this?

Thanks for Your feedback. The native resolution of my late system was approximately 5000 x 2500 pix. Maybe I'm sharpening and processing them too much. Anyway the point for me was to spend a great day at the nearby islands and taking panoramas at interesting spots. There's lot's of history there that people don't know about. I have visited in about hundred of those islands and there are hundreds more.

Based on fixeighted comment, I changed my workflow a bit for the next islet called Suntkeri. Of course the lightning conditions and environment was different, but am I moving right direction. The initial problem is that the lens is a bit soft, so pictures need some sharpening operations. I might have overdone this earlier.

A vast improvement. You could always AI upscale them to add more detail and remove some softness, rather than brute force sharpening.

Here's another at island called Lounimmainen. I would translate the name of the island "the one most in the southwest". Pictures were taken October last year soon after the Baltic gas line explosion. If You look at southeast, you see the smoke coming from Russian side, where they burned Natural gas in free air. I saw the source quite clearly with binoculars.

I created another one. This island is called Keskimmäinen, which I would translate "the one on the middle". Pictures were taken at October last year.

I'm studying replacement for the stolen camera. I wonder if one of these would do the job. However I have some doubts over the dynamics.

This is the last island i took with my old rig that was stolen from me - Uolio. The name of the island not easy to translate. The last o refers to Swedish word ö for island. I has lost it's umlaut at some point in history. Uoli is ancient Finnish meaning uoma - channel in English.

I wonder why Google does not allow to publish more spheres on of the island. I found there few extraordinary things in the island, but I wasn't going to publish anything where they are visible. Do You have any idea what's causing this what happens?

I bought this Insta360 OneRS. Spherical camera and installed it to my boat with a clamp and invisible selfie stick. I just made a quick test at our marina and edited it with iPhone. Maybe I'm Zooming too much.

Here's my first sphere I placed onto Google Maps near our home harbor. For some reason the coordinates didn't work so. it's not correctly placed on the map. I need to investigate this more.

I tested creating 360 video. I think Vimeo has some kind of resolution limitation with 360 videos. Also the horizon is correctly place only when pointing straight forward or backward,

It's quite a slow process sending those photo spheres to Google Street view. I'm creating a sphere path around our home island. This is the narrowest strait between our home island and the neighbor island. This is a bit tricky place in case of oncoming boat. If You dodge too much, You will hit rocks.
