  • File Link Manager and XP64

    Hi Everyone,
I have recently built my new computer on xp64 and I am having issues with max 7.5 and file linking autocad files. As soon as a file is selected to link a microsoft visual c++ runtime library error comes up and i have to enter the task manager to end the process because the memory usage goes through the roof!

I have lodged the problem with discreet/autodesk and i havent heard anything from them.
If anyone has anyone ideas as what i can do that would be good.

    Has anyone had similar problems?

Motherboard shouldn't matter, but I'm on a Tyan Tiger K8W (S2875) motherboard running dual Opteron 246.

I don't run AutoCAD, but I think these files came from ACAD 2005.

from what i can gather the motherboard drivers are the problem, there is some uncompatability between the c++ libraries that the motherboard software installs.
