I would get a size up from the 6x8, once you go widescreen/dualscreen the active area gets too small if you use it in non-mouse mode. You can always assign a smaller active area on a larger tablet if you find it too big. Future proof.

I hear what you're saying, but that's a lot of desk space. I decided on the 6x8 because of #1 - desk space, #2 - cost and #3 - I don't use looooong strokes anyway!sigpic

True, I've had 2 6x8's they are perfect at 1600*1200 1:1 mapping but at larger wide screen res I've found them useless as the vertical dimension has to be reduced to remain in ratio.

I have what is a perfect combination - for me, at least: 6x8 Intuos and Logitech cordless track ball. I have the Intuos mapped to active area on my large screen - where I do all my PSing. When I need to use the other screen, or when I need to use a PS tool that is easier with the trackball, I don't even set the stylus down. I keep it between my fingers like a pencil and use the trackball. (I'm actually typing this with the stylus still between my fingers - no slowdown) Having the trackball cordless lets me position it wherever it's convenient too.sigpic
