I/O error transfering new job - backburner problem

Has anyone encountered this problem when submitting a job to backburner?

I have backburner 2.3.0.37 with Max 7 SP1 running Vray 1.09r. How do you solve this problem?

Usually when i see that one its that the backburner manager disk is full

Browse its backburner 2/network/jobs folder, it keeps on disk a record of every job sent, even if you delete them from the queue... !

not entirely true, I got this error just yesterday and my manager disk has planty of space ( 27gb)

I have 15GB of free space on my manager's HD, but I did take your suggestion and cleared out Backburner's queue. I also asked poeple not to play online games and the problem went away. Very strange.

My Xp Pro SP2 recently got some updates from Microsoft. That might be another cause. Who knows. On Discreet's Max support site, there are 3 postings regarding the same problem. But their solutions didn't work in my case.

My Xp Pro SP2 recently got some updates from Microsoft.

Check to make sure that the XP SP2 Firewall isn't on, or any other firewalls for that matter that might be between the manager your workstation, and the rendernodes.

we have run into this before, couldnt locate the reason, other than some corrupt backburner settings/message files (there are reports on this on the discreet webboard, be sure to check them out)

all in all im more than disappointed with the stability of backburner - but the alternatives were too costly for us
