better not make too deep a divot on their course then or you might strike oil hehehe (or to get things back On Topic, strike a puddle of water)

      a puddle of oil...haha that's funny because it's true.
I guess oil is thicker than water...

      Oil's well that ends well....

thanks olitech, for the brief. well i have to tried this, may in the next project. the terrain never get the way i like, even after alot of mesh edit, but the problem is that i start from a terrain object normally, due to heavy use of file link (lots of clients changes to the project). tomorrow i will post a image from one of our last job. the terrain was all done in ps including painting (small time frame).

        thanks,
        daniel

          olitech/Da_Elf:
This technique of Da_Elfs that you claim to use all the time. What is it?
          Curious is I

Nice looking golf course, and a great poly count to boot.

                  ahh ok.
Well thats fine then, I can already model a mean polygon
Just though there was a another trick of the trade.

p.s. love your terrain. Nicely done. Can we some some closer shots?

                        ok, a closer look

As you can see, still some 'rough around the edges' at the sandtraps, but the next level of msmoothing is camera dependent

it's clear I 've been missing out, being held back by autoCAD posibilities.
Thanks all for the wake up call

Its still a nice road to go, but the beginning is there.
