its ok. the tab thing is nice. saves room on my task bar hehe. appart frm that though i dont really see much performance improvement but that could be because this computer is a 6 year old p3 450 with 300 or so megs of ram

AHh ok... good to know you got it sorted.

Have you started to use the mouse gestures yet Elf?

Thats one thing IMO that makes Opera shine. SUre Firefox has it, but i dont like it as much.

              Gestures for the win.

Opera has some definite good ideas and flow, but i still prefer firefox's extension expandability

firefox + All in one Gestures + IEView + foxytunes + download manager tweak + anidisable(AntiAnimatedGiF!) + Gmail notifier.. etc.. etc..

Elf, hold your right mouse button down and swish it quickly to the left and let go of the button.
A window will pop up asking if you want to activate mouse gestures. Choose yes
And then wrap your peepers around this page

Yeah Firefox does have a great extension community. Alot of great stuff going on there.

For me, because of opera's speed, ease of use, and nice simple clean layout... and not to mention the mouse gestures, i prefer it over IE and even firefox.
IE just has so many things wrong with it , its not funny. And firefox just doest float my boat, even seems slower to use that opera IMO.

ok this time this was weird. i left the computer running while i was out when i got back it was sluggish and basically it seemed to be opera that was sluggish. i closed it down and went to reopen and it said another user was using it already. strange. i clicked lock down on my zone alarm quickly and when i checked in there for anything out of the ordinary i found another network connection. should only be two but now there were three. somehow a loopback adapter connection was added. strange. i deleted it quickly though

                            WTF.. that is weird.
Well a loopback adapter harmless anyway.

I have certainly never had random network adapters installed on my computer. very odd.

backburner uses a loopback to batch render on a single computer, I think MRay may need it too.

i dont use either of those on this computer. this is an internet computer. i have two network cards. one for the internet the other to connect to the rest of the network. im guessing with a loopback whatchamacolic installed someone can loop through my internet computer to the rest of my network.
