  • Chaos Software Lens Analysis Tool - Processing Error Issues

I have been using VRay for 3DSMAX for about 9 years now and have also used the Chaos Software Lens Analysis Tool to help correct problematic lens distortion. However, in the last year or so I have been unable to use the lens analysis tool. I keep getting errors such as "6:internal error" or something about "fpimage getchannelpixels not implemented". I am using Lens Analysis Utility version 1.10 from build 7 Apr 2025 (VRay 7). I have tried with multiple different settings but can no longer process files with the software. I would love to be able to use it again. Can anyone else confirm if there is a bug or not? I'm using Windows 10 Business, 64-bit.

Are you able to analyze the image that yields the error in V-Ray 7 with an older V-Ray? Or does it happen with every image?

hermit.crab Thanks for your reply. I haven't tested older versions of the software, but I have tested several different types of images in different file formats (PNG, JPEG, TIFF) and still get the same error.

I'm using the same version for testing. Does it happen if you "Analyze Manually"? You can see how to do that here (basically drawing vertical/horizontal lines on the photo's edges). I'm not getting that particular error. Mind if you attach one of those images so I can test with it?
