I don't think they exist, the X2 is for single processor systems only. AMD make the Opteron for multi processor systems.

Supermicro make very high quality systems, I've got a few of these:

I don't really know how they compare on price/quality with other manufacturers.

the 275s allow for 2 processors, the 875s allow for up to 4 processors and 16GB of RAM maximum, but at a serious price.

We just got a dual 265 Opterons and they are excellent, I think for the increase in price, the 275s were not as good value for money.

You will need a Tyan motherboard for these chips I think.

            regards

The Opteron 2 series processors, thats 265, 270, 275 and 280 are designed to run in dual processor systems. The Opteron 8 series processors, thats 865, 870, 875 and 880 are designed to run in multiprocessor system of up to 8 processors. As for the best dual processor for 3d the 280 is the fastest, running at 2400 GHz but its also the most expensive. One of the lower speed models 265 or 270 probably offer better price/performance.

You should also consider whether you really need a dual proc system because the single processor X2 are better value for money. See the http://www.chaosgroup.com/forum/phpB...ic.php?t=12220 thread there are plenty of times from X2s and dual Opterons.
