  • huge video post render

    Hi all
    I'm trying to render a 40000 pixels wide image from video post (scanline)
    max is crushing , did any if you guys mange to render a size like that?

    a: why from video post? utilising some of max's video post filters?
    b: why so large? if its a poster surely you dont need it that large since the dpi on the print will be way less
    c: have you tried the backburner section rendering thing to reduce the size of your pieces?

      a. only because we use starfield.
      b. it has to be a poster 6*12 meters
      c.didn't try the section rendering, will try tommorow and let you know how it go's

        ok so you going to be aiming for a DPI of 150....

        man your printing on a poster... your gonna get far les DPI than that.. contact the print place they will tell you what they need.

          ok after speaking with the printing guy , he sain he only need 30 dpi.
          so i needed 17000 pixels , i've render it on 10000 using render stripes and then scale it using photo zoom pro(nice software).

              The last time I used starfield from Videopost looked pretty ugly. It was in the year 2000 or so....In fact i thought videopost had disappeared. Videopost, I used to love that lens flare, great memories, space scenes...
              Does Vray behave well with all that stuff?
