I used all kinds of anti virus and firewall software, and almost went crazy on how it interferes with everything you do. Removed it all and worked more than a year without any protecttion--> no problems anymore.

Then I found avg, which I liked, so I installed that one. Still no firewall though.

I think avg + common sense is a very good option!

      Common Sense v2005 for me

Havnt used an Antivirus program or Firewall for years... infact.. never.
I do have a hardware firewall tho.
Never had any problems what so ever.

Common sense and a little know how.... a good combo (even if you do have a Antivirus)

Its only a problem if the licence server is on the same machine as NOD32.

            AVG free all the way

I had a friend give me his machine to "clean up" after loaning it to his students for the school year. I recommended to reformat a hard drive and do a clean windows install, but he declined. So first thing I did was uninstall the fully functioning Norton antivirus and installed AVG free. It found 47 viruses that Norton couldn't detect.

Yeah, I had it download the latest definitions first, and then ran a scan. Norton said the machine was clean. I don't remember what "viruses" AVG found vs. Norton. It may have been stuff that Norton doesn't consider harmful.

Yeah norton suck bigtime. Norton 2005 detects more virusses than norton 2002 which has constantly been updated and payed for every year. I wonder why you get the option to pay a fee every year if they actually want you to buy the latest version.

It also infiltrates in your whole system, disabling it doesn't stop it at all, it tries to do everything automatically etc...

I'm a big fan of the no nonsense mini programs like avg. I need a virusscanner so all the software needs to do is scan for virusses, nothing more, nothing less.

                    Totally agree with you DaForce.
For me no antivirus or other software which interferes and slows down the complete system.
Haven't used antivirus software for 10 years and no problems at all.
                    Only use the XP firewall.

All those fake new virusses are invented by the companies who sell antivirus software......

NONE I foind my routers built in FW good enought. If your getting viruses stop going to porn sites, and don;t oppen those e-mails from aunt edna! or chain e-mails.. they mean well but usuallly get a nice virus attached with them!
                      Thanks

Had the same problems with norton.
Done scans with it,norton says the machine is clean but the pc runs like a dog.
Then a mate recomends panda,so i scanned with that,8 nastys!!
So norton now lives in the bin......

                            Priad:
Be careful cause if you use NOD32 on the same machine as your vray licence server you will have problems.

Ewww.. you use the XP firewall... bleech hehehe I dont touch that.. other than to turn it off straight after install.

WHat do you mean by "block max execution"
Do you get any specific errors? or has max just stopped working since you installed Kaspersky?
