Ok folks... I have fished for a LONG time and have eaten nearly everything I caught and released the rest. I am well aware of the sustainable abilities of fishing. You at least have the option of releasing what you catch (as opposed to hunting). I am also a member of the SPCA and am aware of cruel treatment. I was also a member of the CCA (coastal conservation association) than manages and monitors the fisheries around the US to make sure that a sustainable, and have been responsible for the come back of many species, such as redfish and tarpon.

I wanted to release the sailfish since I was not planning on eating them. On the other hand, in Mexico, they are allowed 2 billfish (marlin, sailfish, etc..) per boat per day. While sailfish is a little gamier to eat, they like to take their allotted catch and donated it to the poor and to the local orphanage for food. I have learned not to argue with local customs.

As far as the title to my thread, I am sure you can see that it is sarcastic. I am as much a man if I won big in blackjack. Fishing is mostly luck.

Anyone else want to give me a hard time? (insert sacrastic tone in this last sentence).

That thing must have put up one hell of fight, sail fish are suppose to be one of the fastest fish in the ocean.

same here actually cant stand the stuff with the exception of prawns and calamari and baby octopus if its cooked right oh and tinned tuna... if you can even call that fish.
