  • Max8 SP1 released

Autodesk has released Max 8 SP 1:

I have not used 8 much due to the feedback others have posted. Hopefully this SP will take care of everything!

Weird, I've had little or no problems with max-8 (apart from that damn spline problem which by the sounds of it they haven't completely fixed )

What sort of things have caused max 8 to crash for you?
        Many Thanks

Ok why haven't they fixed the spline problem? Was it known to them; ie. the developers at AME? I didn't see a fix for dual core machines either in the read me and that is apparently an issue with Max 8.

            I guess maybe a SP2?

I have generally had no problem with dual cores with max 8 and vray. I have had problems with vray displacement maps (3d) if the sampling is too high and mapping too tiled.

No problem opening old files here either.

I've not installed the SP but the readme says that spline-refine has been fixed, but that it was not recommended to try it in perspective or camera viewpoints.
              Many Thanks

We had problems with the backburner..

no chance to force timeout to be longer but 600 minutes.

with very big single frame renderings this was real bad.

do you know if this is fixed ?

This all they do in 4 months...

no backburner monitor fix, no snapping fix and more bugs still exist..

This SP1 doens't solve our problems at all...

                    no snapping fix
I haven't used 8 or the new SP 1 but I saw in the readme file that snapping was mentioned a few times. Are you sure they didn't fix that?

                      SNAPS
                      • Grid Snaps now function for sub-divided grid spacings

this is the only thing they mention

Oh, I saw this one too...

Accuracy refining using grid snap is fixed

What else was messed up? Just the snapping flakiness of yore (v7 etc.) or something new?
