  • non US residents selling models on turbosquid

    Hi,

Are there any people here on this forum that sell models on turbosquid but who don't live in the US? I have a few questions regarding all the IRS forms you need to fill in order to do so. And also if these sales are subjected to US taxes or not, I get really confused by contradictory statements in the instructions of these forms.

If there are Belgian people who are on turbosquid that would be ideal.

Please contact me trough PM if you would like to help me out a bit.

    Thanks,

    wouter

    Hi wouter
we sell some stuff at turbo squid and I'm from Israel.
from the total sale turbo squid will take 50%.
from your 50% you will pay 10% for us tax.
They will pay you on time.
as for all those IRS forms , i don't remember what we did at the time but i followed the instructions, you can use their email support they will tell you exactly which form to fill.

thanks gili, that probably means I don't pay the 10% because in their table Belgium is listed 0%, Israel is listed 10%

They indeed told me wht forms to fill in, but the problem is more the forms itsself.

I sent it all to my accountant so he can handle it correctly I don't want any surprises in a few years!

I was interested in selling models on turbosquid, but as u say flipside, it´s very confusing indeed for us people from the European Union. I didn´t figure it out, so i´m not selling anything. If u manage to do it, just let me now

Yeah, in 3d02 it seems they give you the 55% of what is sold, and they manage the tax issues, and the promotion stuff. You don´t even have to fill in any forms or anything. By what i can understand, u just receive the money and doesn´t need to do any extra action about it. But i´m cautious about it, because you could always find hidden taxes or charges...uhmm i don´t know...any experience with 3d02?

              BTW, what happened to 3d01?

No experience, but that's why I like to fill in the forms, that way you know it is official. Note that 3d02 is based in Asia so if any forms are required they would probably be different than those of turbosquid.

Turbosquid also gives more than 50%, it depends on the price of your objects. Additional advantage is that everybody knows turbosquid, while I had never heard of 3d02 before.
