  • dark glass in vray

HI, this topic has probably come up over and over again but I've done a serach (promise) and nothing really came up.
Basically glass consistently comes up too dark. I can't quite figure out why but as far as i can tell it appears that the colour which you use to express the amount of reflectivity of the material actually tints the relfection itslef.
I'd be curious to hear what other people do for their glass... Many thanks.

PS:if I use max standard material, the reflection makes the material lighter which is a way around it but it's slower to render and i'm not sure refraction works properly. cheers.

increase max depth from 5 to maybe 20. It will increase the amount of internal bounces inside the glass (i think - correct me if i'm wrong) and give better looking glass. It will increase render time, but not by too much.
