Cool, but can you run MAX and vray on a cluster yet? I wonder what benefit we would see if we ran the software on a cluster rather than a render farm?
Microsoft will be releasing a cluster software based on server 2003. It's in beta 2 now and is expected to be released sometimes this year.
I assume that MAX and vray would have to be recompiled to work on a cluster, wouldn't it? Of course MAX will first need to be 64 bit before it can even be considered.
It sounds interesting, but I haven't read much on the subject of clusters or even if running out type of software is possible.
