  • Of dream and suffering...(maya)

Hey, this message is for suffering users in maya.

Basicly when win2k was around, rendering in maya was fine. When winxp came out, it has this feature where it makes the screen blank if the application does not respond after some time. So when you are test rendering and for example browsing the web, your maya screen with the frame buffer will go blank and you cant see whats going on, until the frame is finished. This is quite annoying...

Well I have found a solution:

go to alias/maya7.0/bin/maya.exe right click on maya.exe and go to properties/compatability
check compatability mode [windows 2000], also check disable visual themes and turn off advanced text services for this program.

Restart maya and you now can render and brows web while seeing the progress.

    Enjoy :P
