digital camera?

Can anyone recommend a good quality camera for shooting textures such as fabic and wood?

I don't have much experience with cameras, so the easier it is to use the better. I'm looking to to spend around $500.00 or so. Thanks.

I like Canon because of their Digit 2 processor and it's really low noise. Look at www.dpreview.com. They do reviews and is a great place to get user feedback also. they have forums so you could post questions there too. I think the G6 looks good, however, it is getting long in the tooth for a digital camera and the newer Canon models may give the same image for less money. Good luck!
