max 8 crashes again

ok, i know its been discussed before, and i know i've sad i've no problems with max 8. but
aaaaaah F......,
its going for two weeks now, that every time i cancel render max crashes totaly!! no error message, nothing! max is just closing.
we're running service pack 2.
any suggestions?
i don't want to save everytime i'am clicking on Render.

any tips? in the last 20 min. max crashes about 10x everytime i hit the cancel button!!
i havn't try'd with scanliner, its a Vray problem or max?

johnny, it sounds like a max problem.
Are you running out of memory when its rendering?

no problems here with max 8 sp 2....
have u been workin for that time in the same file?

try this....
in the max command prompt type gc() and hit enter - then save your file.

This will clear out any old crap from your file

If that fails you might want to merge everything into a new file
