    Real life sexism

Back to the subject - sexism right ?
Anyway I thought I'd share a story from my own household. My Dad got my mother a good house keeping cookbook from their first wedding anniversary - and this ain't no joke. She took her revenge slowly over the next 41 years - my dad now it the only man on the island, with five grand daughters, two feminist daughters and my mother who did a masters degree in women's studies he'll NEVER make that mistake again - poor bastard
Men and women are definetly very different when it comes to the physics and the environment, my sister is doing a PhD in sociology, she has three kids very independent, very clever, genius with money, but ... she was looking at a piece of land she wanted to build a house on, it was the winter in Ireland so the sun ( when there is sun ) just about gets above the horizon. She is standing in this field depressed by the lack of light on hitting the land, she was depressed and wanted to pull out of the deal, trying to cheer her up I said that the land will get better sun in the summer. To my utter astonishment she asked what difference that would make? She honestly did not know that the sun's angle in the sky is totally dependent of time on season - maybe my sister is just stupid, but I really can't imagine a guy asking this question ( he'd just bluff his way out of it :P ) but who am I to generalize ?

lol. We're not free from stupid shit either - we just don't admit to it.

Truth be told - I think parents sometimes raise their kids too overly protected (girls more so) and it dumbs them down later in life. If you raise your children on equal terms, it'll balance itself out a bit better.
