I really like the idea and am in of course. Would ppl be interested in an irc chat ? Cause the Chat window in frapper is really small and not really convenient to use. What about an irc chan that is invite only and in order to be added to the invite bots you have to send a pm via board so it can be restricted to registered users....would there be any interest at all ? or do you guys think msn is enough ?

am not on msn so far, that's why i'm asking. i prefer irc over AIM systems normally because everyone is in the same room right away to freely chat...on msn i'd have to start a groupchat and invite plp as they get online, no ? i dunno am asking cause i aint on msn hehehe

I think an IRC chat room probabaly isnt a bad idea.. only problem is it may take away from the board.
i.e. problem solving will be done in IRC not the forums.
Which to me is a bad thing as one great thing about the forums si the wealth of knowledge that is available just a search away.
So as long as the IRC room was controlled in a way that is was just off topic chat then i reckon it would be sweet.
We can link html code in the map page.. so if there is a HTML irc client then we may be able to tie it in on that page??
Although maybe sticking to msn is just better.
Its unlikely we will often hane en-mass chats
