  • File linking with ADT2007

Just took the plunge with installing ADT2007 in the office.

Having problems with file linking into Max 8.3. I've installed the realdwg patch which allows me to link ok, but If I start mapping/applying textures to my file linked scene in Max and then update the link (because the AutoCAD model has been updated), I loose all the textures and mapping coordinates.

    Has anyone else had this?
    Kind Regards,

easy fix tricky, when you link you file there are options (when show reload options is checked) under the advanced tab to use the scene material definitions and material assignments on reload.

Let me know how you go, more than happy to help out

Thanks for that - seems to have worked a treat! It must have been defaulted to 'ON' on the last release.

I'm struggling with ADT2007 though - I haven't found one useful feature yet!

Another quirk with FLM - anyone know how to maintain the colours of the layers from ADT when the geometry is FL'ed into Max 8? With ADT2007 this worked fine, but with ADT2007 all geometry comes in as grey.
