i dont think there is anything that can get it perfectly seamless.. as that requires the "human eye" touch...

But in saying that, Richard Rosenman has something which might help you.

Yeah... the pinching is always going to be a problem.. no plugin can properly fix that. it may be something you have to do by hand after using the plugin perhaps.

yep, but it's hard to figure out in photoshop which image places edit to fix this pinch problem.

yep... not much you can do im affraid. Other than map it to a sphere in max and then edit in PS then update the map in max and see how it looks.

panorama tools has a remap filter to convert to spherical panoramas

it is open source and comes as a photoshop plugin

your image has to be in 2:1 aspect (twice as wide as high) to fit perfectly
              http://panotools.sourceforge.net/
              download:
              http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/p...r.zip?download
you probably also need the library
              http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/p...2.zip?download

other than that, hdrshop has a pano remap function - but its non-commercial only

ps: while reading your post a second time: does your current image look like a cross (cubic) panorama?
this might help you to figure out which conversion you need
              http://www.panotools.info/mediawiki/...norama_formats

if i get it right, you have a cubic one and want to convert to equirectangular (which fits onto a sphere perfectly) - this should be possible
              tried with hdrshop:

top-right is the image, mapped to the inside of a sphere

Pretty sure with those plugins/program you will still have a pinched center. Thats the main problem he is trying to avoid.

I guess the image he has arnt a total 360deg, hence the pinching. Of course if you had a full cross then it would be easy to convert to a sphereical map but i dont think thats the case

Have a look at ptgui or hugin.
Both tools can generate controllpoints to stitch several images automatically together. Both can also blend the images to have a perfect colormatch.

Here some panoramas with a fuji S2 + 10,5 nikkor fisheye.

this image is not a fully spherical panorama, hence you are getting pinches
fully spherical panoramas (360x90°) have an aspect ratio of 2:1 (and the lower parts are distorted to correct for pinching)
yours is 2:0.4 - it is cylindrical only

you are missing about half the height information
normally you have to shoot several rows of images and stitch those
the only way i could think of would be to resize the canvas to fit 2:1 and blend the added space with the given image (probably won't look good)

or use it as a cylindrical panorama and combine it with a ground plane

if the problem is the difference in brightness then in this case you better stitch them with enblend - or even better - with smartblend.
