  • Virtual walkthrough software

    Hmmm, here's a good one..

Is there any software that can take a max scene (or a DWG if need be) and allow a user to do a virtual walkthrough? Would like the user to walk through the scene from a human perspective.

Would be good if it were web based, ie flash or java (if it has to....).

    Thanks guys!

Thanks, I'll have a look at turntool.

I actually did think of using something like the quake or unreal engine.
Looks like I'm going to have to spend some time digging...

        Cheers

we've been looking at these three:

            www.virtools.com

            www.eonreality.com

            www.adobe.com/products/acrobat3d/

Just had a demo from adobe, and I'm not certain how many poly's it can truely push, but the interface was quite easy...

i've used irrlicht with sucess in the past, it's free and comes with a max exporter which can handle lightmaps.
it takes a bit to setup, cause you need a c++ compiler. but there are free tools around, and they have some good tutorials on their site on that.
once the setup for walkthroughs is done, it's a matter of minutes to insert a new scene, placing the camera and compile.
