  • Cars.... The Movie

Just got back from seeing Pixar's newest movie Cars

And all I can say is WOW.... so amazing... 3d was just stunning.. the landscape...the cars.. the details.. wow.

Went for awhile as well for that sort of movie.. just short of 2 hours.
    Nice little story too...

When you do see it.. and you MUST.. watch the credit there are some very funny car varients of their previous movies shown.

I wont post any spoilers but needless to say its a wicked movie!!

I watching hdtv trailers over and over again. As the premier date is 15-th June But yes it's amazing. Simple render, but awesome materials and animation! What can I say else - PIXAR
I just can't seem to trust myself
So what chance does that leave, for anyone else?

They spent 17 hours per frame to create, that must be good.

Im betting that 17 hours is an aggregate of like 25 passes or something...lol

Apparently they didn't make use of compositing in this film. One frame for everything.

My wife and I went to see Cars on friday and had a blast, we quite enjoyed it although the underlying story was almost exactally the same as "Doc Hollywood" it was funny none the less. But from a technical aspect, WOW, freaking WOW, the shaders, lighting, environments rocked.

watched it on the weekend. It was very well made. The sets, the backgrounds were amaizing. The night shots were stunning. Reflections on the cars... some shots looked photoreal, eventhough they probably didnt aim for it.
There were a few things that bugged me, some closeups of the ground were blurry, looked like a simple painted texture...all things considered ofcourse, it was a minor downfall. Also the fact that the car's eye were at the place of the windshield...was hard to get, I kept looking at the headlights thinking that those were the eyes.
                          Good movie otherwise.

yeah it was visually stunning... some of those canyon shots... OMG

I too noticecd the odd blurry texutre as well Morbid, but like you said... fair insignificant in the scheme of things.

                            Love the movie totally.

I loved those tractors! The story very well outlaid all so. Nice to se lasseter directing. He is good. I didn´t like some of the far away daylight shots, a little to washed out and flat.
