X2 replacement

Ok, here is my situation.
I have an X2 4400 dual core processor in my home machine. Its nice but i have come to the point where i need more POWER!!

Any ideas of what is around or about to be released?

I would be happy replaceing my mobo as well.

It is the most powerful CPU out ATM... but word is AMD are meant to have something out sometime... could be later this year tho.

possibly.. but still wouldnt compare to the whopping that the conroe is dishing out.

Get yourself a nice dual 275 setup or something if you want to stick with AMD.

THe other down side of going to INTEL is you would need new ram, pretty sure the conroe uses DDR2

Hmmm they should be that much bigger... if bigger at all.

But a bigger case would help with airflow.. you dont want those babys roasting!!

Just buy a whole new machine and use the X2 for DR
