  • Seamour Sheep

    Heya guys,

Although this has actually nothing to do with V-Ray I'd still like to inform you of my latest creation: Seamour Sheep, a 3D comic strip hero. Here are my first three gags:

If you like this silly sheep and his sidekicks, you're heartily invited to become his friend at http://www.flickr.com/groups/seamoursheep/. Hope to see you there.

    Thanks and cheers,

    Metin

Looks like somebody's a victim of their own 'no hot-linking' policy.. ROFL.

      Hahaha.

On the subject of the comics - your jokes are on their way but the wording could use some refining.

90% of comic strips making me laugh is in the facial expressions of the people involved, while youve got plenty of detail and feeling youve also got a very apathetic look running through it, which unfortunatly comes through stronger than the intended look.

      Good work anyway.

          Not bad not bad.

There is a slight grammatical error in the first comic but nothing major.

Here is the links to the images... copy paste them in a new window

                Hi guys,

Thanks for your feedback. The no linking has been fixed. The allowed domain was new.chaosgroup.com, so I changed it into chaosgroup.com. A refresh might be necessary because of the ol' browser cache.

Da Force: what is that error? I'm not a native English speaker, so I can imagine that I've made a mistake.

Cubicle Gangster: the apathetic look is meant to emphasize the indifferent nature of the sheep as well as the mole. If you think of Garfield's default expression, he has become well-known because of his indifferent stare. I like to process subtle expressions into my characters, trying to avoid too much looney tune whackiness.

Regarding the wording: it's hard to create full sentences in a small balloon, so some simplification is unavoidable.

Despite my slightly differing opinion I definitely agree that I've just started driving on the long road to improvement. These comics are my first three comics ever (aside from the ninja comics I used to draw when I was about 12 years old ).

Don't forget to become Seamour's friend if you're a Flickr member...!

In the last frame you wrote:
"I always knew sheep have no sense of humor"

                  it should read

"I always knew sheep had no sense of humor"

Thanks Da Force. I would think "I always knew sheep have no sense of humor" is correct, because the mole always knew that sheep have no sense of humor, as in: the sheep still don't have a sense of humor. The mole always knew that and the sheep proves it.

But maybe this Dutch approach to combining past and present tense is unusual in the English language.

No problem, I'm glad you mentioned it anyway.

Percy, thanks! Yep, this is pure scanline stuff, using finalToon for the inkbrush-like toon lines. It is really a breeze not having to cope with often unpredictably long GI calculations.

Let's all go back to the good old Scanline renderer guys! "Ouch! No Vlado, please don't hit me with that baseball bat! I was just joking, honestly!"
