              It seems to me that finally processors are getting a big jump in speed starting in the last year or so after a major slow down before that. I guess now the cost of that is price. I am also wondering if we are having a bit of "premature" release.

                wouldn't this take care of the premature release problem

                        possibly they might put in some late nights and hit us with quads earlier hehhe.
                        i believe i just heard a collective groan on the wind. if i calculate the wind speed and direction and the exact time this press release was made i figure it came from the general vacinity of the intel headquarters. or it might have been from people who have indigestion from the McDonalds down the road from intels office.

                              I just hope we will see a rise in Dedicated Hardware Acceleration..
                              Eg ARTVPS etc.
                              Would be nice to have a node that processes Irr maps with the strength of 20 computers individually. OR even one that does final calculations.

                              I think this is the future anyway.. eg. the latest is a dedicated physics card for games.

                              No matter how much you try you cannot stay on top.

                              Its all mxr's fault anyway ;D

                              As a side note: now that Amd bought ATI, I believe there will be a few integrated designs where you buy a motherboard,CPU and gfx card in the one package.

                              Anyway who knows.. the industry is always full of surprises.

                              </end ramble>
