  • my old box is running a temperature

I was wondering if anyone out there had an AMD system using the MP series of cpu's. I've got an old dual mp 2600 system and it boots up to windows and thats about all it does. I checked the cpu temperature and its running at a hot 68 degrees celsius. the fan speeds are running at about 3500 rpm.

if you have a system like this could you post your cpu temp and fan speed. I'd like to know if I've got an overheating problem or not.

    thanks,

Tried blowing out the heatsinks and heatsink fans with a can of compressed air? Dust accumulation over time is one of the primary reasons for overheating issues in older computers. Computers should be taken outside and dusted at least once a year to help prevent this. I usually do mine in 6 month intervals. Technically you can do this without moving the computer if you like breathing in dust.
