  • Blue screen crashes. Pls help

I have "blue screen" issues when working in MAX. Sometimes when I'm going to change viewports using Minimize/Maximize, I'm getting blue screen crash. It's not depended by the size of the max file. It happens about once per 1 or 2 days

    here is my spec:
    MB: Supermicro H8DC8
    CPU: 2x Dual Opteron 270
GCard: nvidia geforce 7900 GTX (with the latest driver)
    RAM: 4GB Corsair
    Win XP64
MAX7SP1, DX9.0c (the same issue in OpenGL mode)
I couldn't find any AGP settings to increase in BIOS as I've been adviced by the hardware assembler.

    any suggestions?
    tnx

try writing down the error codes and what not that are displayed on the BSOD... That will help us alot in helping to figure the problem out.

I just started having some BSODs and max crashing the other day after updating NVidia drivers. Ironically, tossing out my 3dsmax.ini fixed it... guess it got corrupted.

well it does sound like video drivers. Look at updating them, or switch from one video mode to another in max and see if it helps.

I agree with Morbid , switch to Direct 3D. It happened to me 2 months ago by using Opengl, now everything is fine with Direct 3D.
