  • Help with Net Render issues

I didnt want to post tthis in the problems section because I'm unsure if its a problem with vray.
    Here's whats going on...
When I send a job out for net rendering, all nodes render the 1st frame fine without any problems. Then immediately after finishing the 1st frame it was assigned I get the following error on the nodes:

After receiving the error, most of the nodes will get a new task and render several frames without any problems only to get the missing .hdr file error later down the line. I dont understand how it can render it fine and then on the next frame loose a file it needs to render. I haven't had any problems like this before and the only thing I can think of that changed was upgrading to 1.5. The "ERR [Vray]" leads me to think is related to vray.
    Any help is apprecieated.
    thanks

Let me guess... E:\ is a mapped network drive?

If so, it sounds like one of two issues:

    1) Running out of available connections to the machine hosting the share that is E:\. To fix this, you may need to look at setting the fileserver to be either Windows Server, or a Linux box so you can get around connection limits.

    2) Mapped Network Drives like to unmount, and there is no way to remount without either having the user relog, or running a 3rd party utility to remount mapped network drives.

Either way, I'd highly recommend using UNC paths (\\Server\share\folder\file.ext) instead of mapped network drives. You also could copy all the bitmaps to each rendernode so they aren't accessing a network location.
