  • some photoshop problems

    just a quick question

    i saved a rendering in PNG with alpha,

    opened the PNG file in photoshop cs2... background disappear (transparent)

    how to tell photoshop to show the background?

    Dont use png, they use the alpha as transparancy instead of as a mask.

      you could also put another layer behind it in PS and set that to the background color or picture of what you want.

        interesting is that in combustion when shifting the alpha the image appears again. that means the image is there but transparent.

          thanks for the replies!

          the reason I use png because somehow PS CS2 recognizes the premultiplied alpha (so no background fringes around the foreground object).
          But sometimes i just need PS to show the original background for whatever reasons...

          hmmm... is there not any option in PS on how to treat the alpha channel when u open an image? Something like whether you'd like the alpha as a mask, or transparency, use premultiplied or not, etc...

            if you want a premultplied alpha then use *.tga
