  • Anyone remember the Ravix renderer?

Does anyone remember the Ravix vector renderer for Max? I used it ages ago and found that it was brilliant - it could handle anything i threw at it - shadows, complex scenes, whereas Plasma just seemed to crash with anything remotely comlictaed. Plus you would get the full features of max rather than it's stripped down counterpart....

I've been searching to see if i can buy it from anywhere, but only seem to find the Swift 3D plugin....

Just wondering if anyone can shed any light......

I think g-max and plasma are totally different products. As far as i can remember g-max was actually released as free-ware, specifically designed for developing games, or at least game models....

Plasma got dumped - cant think why autodesk didnt just keep it as a purchaseable plugin but forget the Plasma/Max bundle - imo it was a bit better than Swift
I guess the demand for Flash 3d didnt explode as expected

I think that and the fact that since video support in Flash has grown to the point it's at today, why bother with vector based 3D when you can just put in a video of a fully rendered model that looks 100 times better and still have it stream pretty quickly?
