  • New tool in the tree generator Arboretum: Vine

    Hi !
A new update of the 1st series of Arboretum that comes with a new tool
    to get vine like plantes.

    Here is an example:

3 plantes come with this tool: Standard red flowers; glycine and seringuat
Some improvments in the shape of the leaves have been added too in
    the 1st series of Arboretum.
Nothing new in the second one. Next step is the trunk texture that will be
    improved with a displacement use.

This new tool is another free plugin added to the 1st series of arboretum
without any other charge. It's a simple tool that use the same folders than
Arboretum. It would give me more job to do a separate plugin.
For those who already have a licence of the 1st series can then,
      download the las update.

The principle is very simple, draw a line to form the shape of your vine
and click to create the plante.
I'll try to show another test later.

        Sweet!!

Do you have a texture like these?

Also would it be possible, if you wanted say... a wall covered in vines, could you have something where you select some mesh and apply the vines to that, and the vines are sort of randomly created upwards along the mesh, or you use a few "guide" splines to show the general direction?
I think that would be a pretty cool feature.. althought might be a little tricky for you to make

          Hi DaForce !
This is what I'm working on now, a vine along a wall or any other
          florished plante like that (roses).
For a full viny wall, I think a displacement or particule system can do the
trick. So, I don't need to do it.
Nevertheless, a smaller vine not covering all a wall is more peculiar to
elaborate. There isn't a big difference with the vine tool I present today.
There are some simple changes to do but is somewhat different however.

The principle will be the same as the vine tool.
You draw a line from the ground to a certain heigth, then some branches
will appear on both sides with one ramification (for now, I can add more
if needed). so you will have to do several lines to cover a large part of
          the wall.

Here is another example of the vine tool with a glycine and a small
          seringuat along a wall.
Of course, the trees are made with Arboretum...

          Bye !

            Ah ok .. cool

            Vine looks pretty good.

( I havent played with it yet) but can you have a vine with no flowers at all .. just leaves? like in those images i showed you.

I just can't seem to trust myself
So what chance does that leave, for anyone else?
