  • max9 & colorcorrect plugin

I have old scenes that I want to render in max9. They have the colorcorrect plugin all over the place and this plugin is apparently not functioning with max9. Now, to render them I need to remove the colorcorrect plugin wherever it is present. Any way of doing this other than the hard way?
    Regards,

Open them in max 8, use my colour correct script to remove it from the selected objects and resave.

Does anyone have any idea if a max 9 recompile is on its way?
Depending on that little piece of soft is a bit annoying...what about a VrayColorCorrect feature?

joconnell: thanks! your script gets me a long way. It doesn't get them all, for some reason, so I'm still searching for the remains, but it helps a lot

panthon: once I started enabling gamma correction of input files in the gamma/LUT preferences, I no longer need the colorcorrect plugin. it's just these old files that are a problem... I don't know if there are any new versions of the script coming, though. looking at cuney tozdas site it doesn't seem to be a priority for him, anyways

Yeah, same here. We have a bunch of 64bit-ready machines sitting there waiting for us to make the switch, max 9 64, vray 64, 4 gB ram, only thing missing is that ColorCorrect thingy...what a shame...

I wrote Cuneyt and haven't heard a response. I've written him in the past and same thing. Perhaps a few of you guys wouldn't mind giving him a go as well so I'm not in the minority here:

For those who skipped over the working knowledge of LWF, colorcorrect comes in handy for either conversions of old files to LWF and/or to match a specific RGB value (like a sample of a fabric or paint scanned into photoshop - depends on how picky you or your clients are.)

                That having been said,

@joconnell. The remove function fails in my situation at multi-subobjects. In particular if a multi-suboject is embedded within a multi-subobject (don't ask...).

The other place it is failing is with a multi-subobject that has a vraylightmtl.

Ah balls - I'll take a look at it asap but I'm under fire a bit at the moment - I haven't bothered getting max 9 in yet but a friend of mine who beta tests said that maxscript was broken for quite a while. It might just be that the recompile of colour correct has a new class or something that's breaking it...

To clarify - I'm trying to remove CC in Max 8 - haven't tried the script in 9.
