You won't have any problems with x64 as far as CAD goes, like Tim said. A word of caution though -- you'll need new 64-bit drivers for all the components you intend to use with your workstation. Tablets, printers, etc, so make sure they're available! I got shafted because HP doesn't have 64-bit drivers available for the two laser printers we have in our office.
I had to install windows .net framework 2.0 (x64) to get autcad 2006 to run on an Opteron with XP64. before that, it wouldn't install but smooth as silk afterwards.
