Quadcore benchies

Just found a few quadcore benchmarks, apparently Intel released the CPU's yesterday. Take these with a pinch of salt though....

So now all we need is dual quadcore with vista running nvidia g80 cards on directx10 and crysis loaded up hmmmmm..overkill gaming, and of course rendering VRay stuff too.

no need for dual quads...honestly I dont understand why some people go to extents of building such machines, they must cost a lot of $$$... in 1,2,3 years from now we will see 16 quads, 32, 64... 128 and so on.

Agreed. Guess it depends on how much work you have, if you can afford to wait around an hour or so for a render, etc.

I don't think 1k for a quad processor isn't too bad.... About the cost of my PIII dual 800.

I think its important to keep up with the technology but it moves at such a pace and you invest thousands of pounds in your kit, its out of date in 6 months ! Unfortunately we are all in the industry that requires a lot of processor GRUNT..

I just read Intel released the Quads early on the 1st, cause AMD is releasing their Quads come the 13th.
