mp4 or mpeg

hello all

a client want to get a mp4 video file from an animation. I haven't ever made an mp4! I usually use combustion for composting and rendering the files. but cobustion can't make mpeg files, or do I miss something? are some cool tools for converting out there?

I recommend quicktime pro. Sure there are programs like "cleaner xl" or "squeeze", but for most cases qtpro will do it.

Just output your combustion composition in the desired size as uncompressed avi/mov. Then open it in qtpro and save it as mp4 with the desired bandwitht settings.

with qt pro installed you should be able to render direct from combustion to mpeg4, since combustion fetches all codecs installed on the machine.

or use nero recode2. it´s easy to use and the h-264 encoder is one of the best!!
