  • how do you remove all instances of plugin from max file?!

I have a file I want to render in x64 using backburner, but as we dont have a version of 64bit color correct, backburner refuses to work.

The scene has no instances of this plugin, yet it still doesnt work. Is there any way to find the plugin instance and delete it using maxscript?

Yeah just note itll run into errors if you have CC in submats. Unless John has fixed this by now...

Thanks for the heads-up on this.... although Im not entirely sure it will work. I have already manually gone through all my 'scene' materials, and not one of them has a color-correct map in it. The colorcorrect plugin seems to be baked into the scenefile somewhere. hmm..

I'll get a chance to try this out tomorrow, so will let you know how I get on.

First, be sure the plug-in isn't loading at startup, then maybe you could try creating a new scene and merging everything into it?

I had this problem a long time ago, with a scene I had downloaded. After a few rounds of trying to get rid of that error, I decided I didn't want to ever mess with the CC plug-in. Not good behavior for a plug-in.

By 'scene' materials, do you mean all the materials present in the scene, even the ones that are not assinged to any objects that may still be in the Material Editor?

Also, check things like lights and enviroment. AFAIK that plugin only rengisters in a scene if it is actualy in use somehow. I have used it a lot without any problems getting it out come time to pass files off to those who refuse to try free candy...unless there is something new in R9...

I got the solution from someone on cgtalk. I needed to clear out the instances of CC from the scene in max8 where the plugin was installed and working. then when I imported it into max9 it worked.
I made the mistake of removing the plugin instances from the scene in max9.

Thanks to you all for your suggestions.
