  • viz defaults global mat to architectural

HOW on earth do you stop viz from defaulting to architectural material type when you import new geometry? Every time I bring in new geometry, it switches the "global" mat back to architectural.

    I know this isn't a vray thing.

I know you can change the defaults.ini file, but what is the code for the vray material?

Try using the vrayt scene converter....i think it should work.

it hasn't been working since I went to 1.5... Is there an updated version?

EDIT> actually, I just realized what you meant. The scene converter. I guess I could do that, it's more a matter of every time I bring in new geometry, (I typically model stuff in viz and sketchup and it's when I bring in the sketchup/dwg that this happens) it defaults to architectural as the type for the global material on the new geometry. If I don't apply a new mat to it right away and do a test render, of course I get the stinkin raytrace stuff. I usually keep a global material as a gray for testing.
