        I had a stint selling Roland laser scanners, and the software is indeed the key to success...
        There are plenty commercial softwares out there that do mesh reconstruction out of pointclouds and absolute coordinates, i'm extremely curious to see how this will manage without a reference system other than a 90 degree plane...

          from what ive seen so far it can only work with horizontal passes of the lazer. it would be better to have to vertical planes and one ground plane for reference then when you use the lazer you can rotate it any way you want to get it into the little nooks and crannies

            This software does similar stuff with a similar method. And works fairly. well.
