DaForce, you can get a cable to convert the Xbox video out into a monitor plug. My coworker got one for his 360 and we've got it hooked up to our 42" HD plasma at work. It's unbelievable, and really fun playing the older xbox games again to see them at high res.

yes hi-def gaming is definitely the shizzy. But playing them on a plasma is asking for trouble. I really wish I had gotten an lcd instead of a plasma. They just didn't have very large lcd's when I was shopping around. Barely a year, and I'm already seeing burn in problems. Not permanent yet, but temporary burn in is apparent.

i LOVE my Wii!!! Lucked into one right after xmas....the first call I made was to Toys R Us and they had 6+ of them, so I immediately went a grabbed one. It's really hard to explain just how fun it really is! I've been useless to everyone since I got it! LOL

I realise you can get an adapter/convertor, only problem with the Dell 30" is it only has a Dual link DVI port.
So if i am able to get the right cable its reolution will be restricted to 720p i believe.
Its also a matter of me finding time to get get the cable might do it today hhehe

Matt, what games have you played so far?

not many....lots of the bundled Wii Sports - it's a lot of fun!...and Zelda and Excite Truck, but that's it so far. Wii Sports is just a fantastic way to get you into the Wii and its controls, but it's got a lot of things going for it as well. Zelda is flawless, and rightfully so considering its the flagship game (until Mario Galaxy comes out end of this year), but I'm a huge Zelda fan and am completely biased. As for Excite Truck...it's a little harder for me to get into. I can drive, no problem, but dealing with all the other stunts and fantastical tricks, powerups, etc is a whole other thing that requires some definite time to grasp.

For $250 US, getting a Wii is almost a no-brainer for any console lover!

Percy i'd try for the Wii and Zelda, as i feel pretty much the way you do about the xbox (not 360)
Even if it costed 250$ to get wii and zelda, and then dump it to a reseller, i'd say it's money well spent.
Not to mention the slimming factor inherent in the whole gaming process, absent in any other gaming rig.
I'd love a go at it :P

the extent of my wifes gaming passion is limited to the little box you plug into your tv that has pac man on it.

I was finally able to find an extra nunchuk attachment, so now I can box with my wife (and not leave marks ) ROFL.

Can't wait until a REAL golf game comes out for it and some decent shooters because I'd like to see how the whole wiimote-as-a-gun works. I've tried to rent CoD3 and RedSteel to try that out, but no dice.....all the shelves are bare!

I spent some extra cash, too, to buy a wireless gamecube remote AND memory card AND zelda AND mario just 'cause I've always wanted to play those too. That would be my only problem with the Wii....while it does ALLOW for backwards compatibility with the GC games, it's not as nice as I had hoped. This is the first console I've ever owned, so I don't already have any of that stuff from the GC era. I thought the additional "Classic" controller would take care of that, but nope...not for GC games...same with the internal 512MB of memory...won't work with GC games either. Oh well...all that and STILL money well spent IMO.

hahaha I was kinda suprised when I offered to get one for my GF's xmas present and she didnt seem all that keen on it.
Which honestly suprised the crap out of me!! as she was mad keen on the GC and mario sunshine and luigi's mansion. (both really cool games)

I am trying to hunt one down now, but I doubt there will be much chnace of getting one. Maybe some obscure shop in the middle of no-where might have stock. But EB games sure doesnt have any for a couple of weeks.
