  • Useble bip file for arch anim

Has anyone found a good source of mocap bip files that can be used in arch viz? The stuff I come accross always has about '2 walk' cycles, '1 or 2 still' cycles and 150 'getting shot', 'jumping over horse', 'shooting gun' cycles. Yes, they look great, but I can't have everyone being shot or dying in my shopping mall animations!

I often read people suggesting using a local university and a few students to get the job done, but it really isn't that available/simple over here. I just want to buy a good set of mocap data in bip format.

    Any links?
    Kind Regards,
    Richard Birket

axyz-design sells some good .bip files. To get longer animations, you will have to use something like motion flow mode to blend .bip files together or to get a smooth looping action for the same .bip file. The last animation we did I learned a lot about bipeds. It is a real pain in the ass! Hopefully it will be easier the 2nd time around.

They don't look too bad actually, thanks. However, we could do with about twice as many variations plus we need a lot of people just stood around doing not much (but something!)

            Any other links anyone?

EDIT: looks like that company also do other libraries.

Yeah I would say there is still a shortage of variations on just basic movements like walking, and standing talking, or sitting talking. How many people are actually going to rig up a bag to use with that bip file of the guy putting a bag over his shoulder? It says to me "haha, go ahead and try, but you can't do it!"

Lowpolygon3D has some mocap files too.

Price seems reasonable. Not sure about the quality.
