In the end I got an EVGA GeForce 8800 GTX. I love this card - its so much better than my GeForce 7800 GT. Totally blows it away.
Still waiting to hear from Tricky on his results......???

if you want a cheap and fast solution look at the 7900 GT with 512mb of ram

its a rarer card, i believe only one manufacturer ever made a 512mb version of the 7900gt but its a bargain and performance to boot.
